It's surprising to me how few people (teachers especially) know and use keyboard shortcuts for Word. Page Break is another one that I wish more people knew!!

Praise effort
Here's an excellent article about the merits of praising effort over praising talent. Its nice to see data back up what I've seen this SO clearly in the classroom. Gifting is helpful, but umimpressive. Effort and character that is teachable - now that is impressive.

- Check out the design "label" on the side here for more design goods. look for career stuff especially.
- College board: Illustration Career
- choose the label on the right called illustration and click through some of the sites linked. these are mostly portfolio websites. be sure to look into the bio sections to learns about the education and background of the artists, so that you can learn about their careers a bit.
